Exhibit Spotlight: A Century of Values RV

The World Scouting Museum is thrilled to announce the donation of the “A Century of Values” (ACOV) Recreation Vehicle (RV) by the Non-Profit Organization A Century of Values based in Michigan, USA. This substantial donation of a 32-foot Coachmen, Type C, Freelander RV will help extend the programming of the World Scouting Museum by enabling us to outfit it as a Mobile Museum Unit, utilize it for marketing purposes, and establish pop-up museums throughout West Virginia.

The ACOV RV is outfitted with a custom Scouting-themed wrap that includes Scouting America’s Scout Oath and Scout Law, Scout Handbooks, and a custom Scouting Mural created by Comic Book Artist and Bongo Comics Co-Founder Bill Morrison, an Eagle Scout. (Bill Morrison’s work includes movie posters for WALT DISNEY PICTURES, comic book work for THE SIMPSONS, CREATIVE DIRECTOR AND CO-FOUNDER OF BONGO COMICS, character designer for FUTURAMA and ART DIRECTOR, and character designer for THE NETFLIX SHOW DISENCHANTMENT. Bill also served as EXECUTIVE EDITOR OF MAD MAGAZINE.)
The ACOV RV began its original journey on February 7, 2009, on an adventure called “A Century of Values” to commemorate and celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America (now Scouting America). The ACOV RV traveled 49,000 miles throughout the United States during the trip, concluding on February 8, 2010. Donated by All American Homes/Coachmen and driven by 16 road teams of adult volunteer Scouters from Southeast Michigan. The ACOV also logged an additional 8,000 miles in “Victory Laps” around Michigan and other Boy Scout councils outside the state, and participated in parades, camporees, and special events.
The World Scouting Museum will be receiving the ACOV RV in early October 2025, with the projected date of October 6.

The World Scouting Museum needs your help to fully utilize the ACOV RV!
Here at the World Scouting Museum, we are thrilled to receive this amazing donation! We want to provide a good home for the ACOV RV, and want to ensure we can keep it in good condition, under watch 24/7 with new security cameras, pay for insurance and gas costs for programming, and provide a vehicle canopy for it to sit underneath to protect it. This will require money that the museum has not budgeted or has not set aside for these costs. We are asking for donations to help us prepare and keep the ACOV RV in great condition, our goal is $20,000, and it may seem like a lot, but that is a budget of $4,000 for the next 5 years. We would really appreciate your help in reaching this goal. To donate, please view below or visit this LINK.

The World Scouting Museum will be receiving the generous donation of the A Century of Values (ACOV) Scouting Centennial Recreational Vehicle (RV) in October 2025 from Frank Mallon and the members of the ACOV Non-Profit based in Michigan, USA.
The ACOV RV was driven around the United States for the 100th Anniversary of Scouting and visited every operating local Boy Scout Council. The World Scouting Museum is thrilled to receive this donation, and we have big plans for the ACOV RV!
We are trying to raise as much money as possible in order to utilize the ACOV RV to its fullest. That means taking it out on the road and to places starting in West Virginia and moving further away as we can. We want to utilize the ACOV RV in the following ways:
- as a Mobile Scouting Museum, which we can fill with Exhibits to take to libraries, Scouting events, community events (Regatta, Live on Levee, etc), and to events held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve (Jamborees, Trade-O-Rees, etc)
- as a Marketing and Social Media Tool: Utilizing it to visit every State Park in WV and teach outdoor skills and Leave No Trace principles.
What the World Scouting Museum needs in order to make a wonderful home and provide Scouting and Community Programming with the ACOV RV:
- An RV Carport- Cover the ACOV RV and keep it protected from the elements at our site, allowing for access for viewing but keeping it protected.
- Insurance costs
- Maintenance costs
- New Display Materials costs
- Mounting Hardware
- Gasoline
- Campground Fees for State Parks Trips
- Registration Fees for Events
- Security Camera Upgrades that are needed
- Materials Costs for Programming
We have started the campaign at $20,000 in order to hopefully pay for the costs for a few years, but would appreciate even very small donations towards this cause. We will be spending any donated money on utilizing the ACOV RV from this campaign. We really appreciate your helping out the World Scouting Museum to share the history of Scouting and the ACOV RV!

Here is more info from the original website, www.acenturyofvalues.org:
Beginning on February 8, 2009 through February 8, 2010, fourteen road teams of dedicated Scouters traveled throughout the United States of America. Their mission was to visit every Boy Scout Council in the United States to kick off the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America in a unique way.
The teams celebrated Scouting’s 100th anniversary by thanking all the local councils for their professional service to the youth of their communities. Every council Scout Executive was presented with a special, framed Centennial portrait (24″ x 36″) created just for this event. This year long, road journey covered 45,000 miles while making over 350 scheduled stops. This was our way of thanking the Scout leaders of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Mission was accomplished and the celebration continued throughout the 2010 centennial year! Great Job was done by the entire “A Century of Values Team”. Now it is up to all of us, for the next 100 years, to keep up the tradition of delivering the Scouting Values to the Youth of the great country. Thank you, America.
